"Dan! Did you read today's headline yet?" a frantic voice questioned. The owner of it entered the room seconds later. Said room was a small kitchen where a man sat eating his breakfast.
The man set his coffee mug down and sat back. He wondered what had caused his wife to get so antsy this time. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. He ran his hand through his dark mat of hair and sighed. Better get it over with.

It all started because she disobeyed her mother. "Don't go beyond the fence, Terra!" she had called after her daughter as the young girl pulled on her brand new lavender coat. The rule never managed to register in her childish mind. She was all too excited to be thinking of such things. The weather had granted her wishes overnight by dropping slightly over a foot of snow on the ground, thus canceling school that day. It was any eight-years-old's dream.
Before her mother could think of any more warnings, the young girl had sprinted out the door, intent on making the most of this day of freedom. She giggled in glee at the soft crunch
